I had more fun thinking up a user name and Blog title than the actual set up. I have never used the Voki avatar site. I was disappointed in their poor selection of avatars and accessories. However, in order to complete the required assignment I used their avatar. I would have preferred to another icon generator. I did recommend Blinkiebee.com, but lately the avatars are not loading. I think they're having a problem with their servers. (Update: I have changed my avatar).
If you don't have Adobe products like photo shop or illustrator, then try some free downloads to add, make, or decorate graphics for your blog: Gimp (it's like photoshop, but free), colorpic, or paint.net.
How about online services to dress up your photos and graphics: lunapic, photobucket, picnik.
You might try some free graphics generators too:

Introduce us all to your other alter ego! Create an avatar at the other site and add it for us to admire. Make the link to the site hot so we can connect directly!
ReplyDeleteDo you have any thoughts about using blogs with young students?
As a matter of fact, I'm working on creating my avatar and I just added a link to the site. You must have been reading my mind!
ReplyDeleteI think using blogs with children is a fantastic way to get them thinking and writing and having fun all at the same time. I watch son adding to his classroom blog(s) and I can literally SEE the wheels turn. Children become incredibly thoughtful when they know their peers will read and and may comment on their musings.
